Timeline Sculpture

To further educate visitors on the history of swearing, there will be a timeline sculpture installation around the entire exhibit, spanning across three walls in the space. The sculpture will be made up of blocks mounted onto the wall. This was chosen as a more sustainable option than using vinyl as the blocks are sturdy enough to endure the transporting and lifespan of the traveling exhibit and thus, will be reused.

I came up with several concepts for the timeline using different methods of colour, labeling, and line divisions. From the feedback received, using colours as a method of distinguishing the different centuries on the timeline would be most effective, communicatively and visually.
